How fast does light travel in km/s ? Cheers :)?

Light travels at about 3 x 10 ^ 8 meters/second so for km/s I would think that you would just divide that by 1,000 (10^3) so it would be 3 x 10 ^ 5 km/s or 300,000 km/s.
