Digital Cameras & Printing?

right now i have a 6 mp camera and the biggest sized photos it can take is 2848 x 2136. When I try to get the pics printed online at 6x4 I always have to get them cropped. I'm thinking about buying a 12 mp camera but i'm just wondering if those photos will be at least 97% printable?
