Traditional Chinese Medicine?

I am having accupuncture, accupressure and cupping. There is a language problem with my chinese dr. Can anyone explain, simply, what blockages mean. Also why does my skin go blue after cupping. Dietary advice - he has told me not to eat spicy foods, oil or pasta with no real explanation.
