Age Of Consent: Some Countries There Isn't Why is This Allowed?

My ex was from Lithuanian and out of interest i was looking at ual laws for the country. Saw it was 14 for age of consent and i thought that was pretty bad. Anyway started looking at age of consent around the world and saw a lot of countries are 12 especially in south america. Now that makes me sick. However in africa only a certain amount of countries have an age of consent which is usually 16. But for the other 40 or so countries there isn't an age of consent. This is very disturbing and worse than south america. Am i right in saying that if paedophile went to africa he could have with kids of 10 years old? And likewise to south american countries where its 12? Something needs to be done about this
