On css my mic wont work. Why?

I have a turtle beach x11 usually used for xbox, but compatible for pc also. When I use steam and css voice detection it shows that it works. But when i try to communicate with other players it does not work. I have a sound blaster x-fi go pro. What is the problem help I would appreciate it.
